Meeting Description:
Join the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) during US Antibiotic Awareness Week for a discussion on the importance of appropriate antibiotic prescribing.
 
NFID Medical Director William Schaffner, MD will moderate the webinar featuring a presentation by Sara E. Cosgrove, MD, MS, NFID Director, SHEA Past President, and Director, Johns Hopkins Hospital Department of Antimicrobial Stewardship. The webinar will focus on changing the culture of antibiotic prescribing and individual healthcare provider behaviors.
 
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
  • Explain drivers of antibiotic prescribing
  • Discuss methods to engage frontline providers in optimizing antibiotic use to change practice
  • Describe communication strategies for working with individual prescribers to improve antibiotic use
 
There is no fee to participate in this activity but pre-registration is required.
