Heather Flattery

Heather Flattery is the Manager of Membership and Marketing at SOPHE.  Heather is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) and alumni from the Eastern Virginia Medical School of Norfolk, VA for her MPH and Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ for her BS in Public Health and a minor in gender studies.  Her primary interests in public health are the empowerment of women and girls, comprehensive sexuality education, trauma as it relates to public health outcomes, and environmental health factors.  Through the building of membership and marketing SOPHE products and campaigns, she is focused on passion projects and growing professionally to help other public health professionals thrive.

Antonio Gardner

Antonio Gardner, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Health Promotion in the Department of Food Science, Nutrition, and Health Promotion at Mississippi State University. He is an active member of the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE), the American Public Health Association (APHA), the Mississippi Rural Health Association, and the Delta Chapter of SOPHE. His research interests are in health equity with a focus on rural African Americans. His current research examines the risky sexual behaviors and readiness of rural African American men to participate in barbershop-based HIV prevention programs.
