Meeting Description:
Teaching an adult requires very different skills and strategies from teaching children.  You have to be able to recognize the how adult learning differs and be able to adapt your teaching methods.  In this webinar, Jennifer Priziola, PharmD, BCPS and Jacqueline Brewer, BSN, RN will cover the steps to effectively teach not only patients but also your colleagues who may be new to the PH field.

Dr. Priziola earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Allied Health, Wayne State University  and completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Beaumont Health System, Royal Oak.  Dr. Priziola previously practiced as a CICU and MICU pharmacist for 10 years and recently transitioned to Clinical Coordinator of Pharmaceutical Services.  For the past 5 years, Dr. Priziola has managed patients with the PH team in the Cardiac ICU and outpatient center; however, her primary focus has been in the care of the hospitalized patient, with an interest in medication safety.  Dr. Priziola is a member of  American College of Pharmacy, American Society of Health System Pharmaicsts, PHA and Society of Critical Care Medicine.

Jacqueline Brewer, BSN, RN is currently the Clinical Coordinator for the Pulmonary Hypertension Center, Beaumont Health System.  Previously she worked as a cardiac intensive care nurse in the CICU Beaumont Hospital Troy.  Ms. Brewer received her degree from from Oakland University.  Her research interests inlcude quality of life and patient self-care management.  Ms. Brewer is a member of PHA's PH Professional Network, serving on the Practice Committee.
