Meeting Description:

Learn how a health system HACed VAEs and saved $1 million

Join this May 3rd FHA Bi-Monthly IVAC Webinar Series event featuring a Georgia hospital that made great strides in reducing Ventilator-Associated Events (VAE). Medical Center Navicent Health in Macon, GA, reduced their VAE by 60% by creating a “burning platform” using data (HRET-HIIN), Six Sigma DMAIC and rapid cycle change resulting in savings of close to $1 million. This multi-modal approach is sure to spur some incentives for your clinical leaders and front-line staff. If you are a nurse or respiratory therapist, you should not miss this webinar. Discussion will include transport protocols, mobility, hand hygiene, equipment as well as bundle compliance. We also welcome FHA hospitals to share what they are doing to reduce IVAC rates.

This virtual training is part of the bi-monthly webinar series for the FHA Call to Action on Eliminating Infection-Related Ventilator-Associated Complications (IVAC), which was launched last fall by the FHA Board of Trustees. Our goal is to reduce IVAC rates by 20% by Oct. 1, 2018. Visit the FHA IVAC Call to Action Web page for resources, tools and implementation strategies for preventing IVAC.
