The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and Small Business Majority invite you to join us for a free webinar to help you navigate the funding landscape and finance the growth of your small business. We will focus on microloans, crowdfunding, online lenders and guarding against predatory lending. Growing your business also means securing your finances, so we will provide an overview of common retirement paths for small business owners and their employees.

Michaela Hahn Burriss - Ohio Outreach Manager, Small Business Majority

 As the Ohio Outreach Manager, Michaela Hahn Burriss is responsible for statewide policy efforts and educating small business owners on issues impacting the small business community. Michaela also coordinates events and serves as a liaison to small business leaders about clean energy issues, healthcare and more. 

Before joining Small Business Majority, Michaela worked in a legal capacity for both the Ohio Senate Minority Caucus' Legal Counsel and the Columbus City Attorney's Office. She also worked in the United States Senate. Michaela is an attorney, a fellow for the Ohio State Bar Foundation, a member of the Columbus Bar Association’s Barrister Leadership Program, and a Certified Tourism Ambassador for the City of Columbus.

Mr. Townsend counsels lenders, resource partners, and prospective borrowers in all aspects of the SBA Loan Programs.  Mr. Townsend offers training, technical support, community outreach, and conducts lender visitations.  His commitment to strategic delivery and implementation of SBA programs is critical to our business community of lenders, advisers, and borrowers.

Prior to joining the SBA, Mr. Townsend served 13 years as an SBA Specialist for KeyBank in Columbus.  In that role, he worked with the Business Banking Team to capitalize hundreds of small businesses utilizing SBA Loan Programs.  Of his many accomplishments, Mr. Townsend is most proud to have funded dozens of start-ups, throughout Central Ohio.

Mr. Townsend has two degrees from the American Institute of Banking as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Franklin University.  He grew up in the Washington D.C. suburb of Alexandria, Virginia, and now resides in Grove City, Ohio with his wife and three daughters.
