John Arensmeyer, Founder & CEO, Small Business Majority

John Arensmeyer has used his long experience as a business owner to build Small Business Majority into a nationally recognized small business organization and the leading advocate for critical public policy issues facing America’s entrepreneurs—particularly healthcare reform, clean energy, access to capital and job creation. Prior to founding the organization, John was founder and CEO of ACI Interactive, an award-winning international e-commerce company. Earlier, he was the chief operating officer of a pioneering multimedia business and an attorney in New York. Together, these  endeavors have helped John shape Small Business Majority into an organization focused on ensuring small businesses’ success as a way to rebuild the economy.

Kevin Bright, Managing Director Energy Efficiency, Duke Energy

Kevin’s twenty-three year career with Duke Energy spans virtually every part of the organization.  Kevin has held leadership positions in Financial Operations, Strategic Planning, Customer Service, Non-Regulated businesses and most recently, in Energy Efficiency.  He currently leads Duke Energy’s Non-Residential Products & Strategy team that is focused on developing and delivering Energy Efficiency products to Duke Energy’s business customers. Kevin holds a bachelors degree in Marketing and a Masters degree in Business Administration.  He has been an integral part of the regulatory process in all five states that Duke Energy serves to advance Energy Efficiency initiatives.  Kevin works out of Duke Energy’s Cincinnati, OH offices, with frequent trips to Charlotte, NC to visit the Duke Energy headquarters.

Chris Carmody, Executive Director, Green Plus

Chris Carmody serves as Director of the Institute for Sustainable Development. After graduating from Oberlin College in 1989, Chris staffed Michael R. White in his successful bid to become Cleveland's second African American mayor. He served in Mayor White's cabinet in education policy and entrepreneurial government posts from 1990-1995 and on Cleveland's Board of Zoning Appeals. Chris holds an MBA from Case Western Reserve University. In 1998, Chris founded the Greater Cleveland Film Commission. Chris has taught undergraduate and graduate level courses in non-profit strategic management and politics at Oberlin College and Cleveland State University. In 2002, he was selected for the American Marshall Memorial Fellowship. Some of the boards on which he has served include the Greater Cleveland Partnership, the Cleveland Film Society, Entrepreneurs for Sustainability, and the Civic Innovation Lab.

Andrew McCabe, Manager Business Programs, American Electric Power
Andrew McCabe is the Manager of Energy Efficiency and Peak Demand Reduction Programs for the commercial and industrial customers served by AEP Ohio.  He has a BSEE from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn and an MSEE from Polytechnic Institute of New York.  In his prior experience, Andrew worked in engineering for AEP Transmission, marketing and sales management for AEG Electric Power Systems, GEC Alsthom,  and Alstom, and commercial management with Areva T&D.  Andrew has published eight papers on transmission technology and looks forward to making contributions in the energy efficiency business.
