The Partnership of Care: Redefining Caregiver to Care Partner

Meeting Description:
In recent years, MSAA and other organizations have adopted the term care partner versus caregiver to help reflect the growing team approach couples use to understand and better navigate life with MS. From helping someone newly diagnosed learn about treatment decisions to making accessible home modifications for a person who has lived with MS for many years, care partners play an enormous and integral role in the everyday physical and emotional health and wellbeing of their loved one.
In this one-hour live webinar, MS nurse practitioner Megan Weigel will address the importance of:
  • Understanding a care partnership between MS couples and the family
  • Establishing good communication skills
  • Learning roles and responsibilities
  • Finding helpful resources and tools
  • Taking care of yourself as a care partner
Following the presentation, participants are encouraged to ask their questions via a live chat feature on the webinar platform. MSAA will attempt to field as many questions as time allows.
Funding for this webinar is made possible through an educational grant by EMD Serono.
