The Cans and Cannots of Food Labeling

Meeting Description:

Exploring the creation and control of food marketing claims

Consumers are hungry for information. They want to know what’s in their food, how it was made, from where it was sourced, and whether or not it’s good for them. In a time of increased transparency, there seems to be more confusion than ever over simple terms like “healthy” and “natural.” Join us as we explore different food marketing claims, what they mean, who’s not using them correctly, and what the future holds in this arena.

Topics covered: Health claims (structure/function), nutrient content claims, “healthy,” “natural,” organic, non-GMO and GMO labeling, food claim-related lawsuits

This webinar is approved for 1 CEU/ Level 2 through the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics.
