With the rate of obesity rising in the USA, it is becoming increasingly difficult for healthcare workers to care for the bariatric patients without risking injury. This webinar will review practical solutions to assure bariatric patients are mobilized to maximize patient outcomes and reduce the risk of staff injury.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Review rate of obesity in USA and how this affects healthcare workers.
  2. Describe practical solutions to mobilize the bariatric patients utilizing safe patient handling equipment.
  3. Discuss gaps in technology for the safe mobility of the bariatric patient.

Continuing Education: FHA is approved as a provider of continuing nursing education by the Florida State Board of Nursing under Provider No. NCE2972. Eligibility for CEUs requires submission of an evaluation survey for each participant requesting continuing education. Licensed Florida nurses will receive a certificate of participation for 1.0 hour of continuing nursing education.
