Franchising in Tunisia: A Gateway to Growth in Africa

Pristine beaches, Mediterranean cuisine, and a thriving tourism sector are hallmarks of Tunisia, the French-speaking nation with a pro-American history poised at the crossroads of Europe, Africa and the Middle East. This relatively new gateway market of 11 million, already featuring U.S. hotels and car rental franchises, will be featured in an IFA International Webinar Wednesday, January 23nd at 11 am ET regarding the TunisMed Franchise Expo Feb. 27-March 1 on the Mediterranean Sea.

The Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) is funding an unprecedented $50 million franchise loan facility in Tunisia to guarantee financing to U.S. franchisors and Tunisian investors. If the loan facility is successful, U.S. officials say it can be a model to advance franchising across the globe. Please join Philip Zeidman, IFA’s General Counsel of DLA Piper, the Middle East Investment Initiative’s Jim Pickup, IFA International Vice Chairman Bill Edwards, and IFA’s Vice President, US and International Development, Scott Lehr to find out more about this international development opportunity.
