Meeting Description:
The presentation will discuss strategies for building sustainable Safe Patient Handling and Mobility (SPHM) programs from both theoretical and practical perspectives. We will draw on a rich tradition of program implementation from a variety of perspectives including agriculture, public health and social sciences. Information will be useful to participants as they begin new SPHM programs, revitalize programs that are struggling to succeed and lead programs into maturity.
 
Objectives
  1. Differentiate program implementation from program sustainability.
  2. Apply principles from business and organizational change to program sustainability in health care.
  3. Implement measures to increase sustainability of safe patient handling and mobility at your facility.

Continuing Education: FHA is approved as a provider of continuing nursing education by the Florida State Board of Nursing under Provider No. NCE2972. Eligibility for CEUs requires submission of an evaluation survey for each participant requesting continuing education. Licensed Florida nurses will receive a certificate of participation for 1.0 hours of continuing nursing education.
