The Center for Strengthening Youth Prevention Paradigms (SYPP Center) invites you to participate in the February presentation of our “Third Thursdays Webinar Series.” In recognition of Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month, this webinar will address intimate partner violence (IPV) among gay and bisexual youth.
Mary Case, program coordinator at L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, and Katrina Kubicek, program manager at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles will share findings from their research and discuss implications for practice. This webinar will provide a unique opportunity to hear research and provider perspectives on this important topic.
After this webinar, you will be able to:
- Identify potential intervention opportunities for preventing violence among gay and bisexual youth
- Describe characteristics of intimate relationships among gay and bisexual youth that are unique to this population and/or other same-sex couples
- Discuss the scope of IPV among gay and bisexual youth
Housed at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, SYPP Center provides capacity building assistance (CBA) services to communities seeking to prevent HIV/AIDS among youth, with an emphasis on young gay men and transgender youth of color.
