Medical Student Wellness and Beyond: Creating a healthy culture for all

Meeting Description:
Being a physician can be an extremely rewarding profession. However, it also can be emotionally and physically exhausting. Physician burnout is common. Physician stress and depression can begin in medical school and worsen over time. Creating a learning environment and culture that ensures the psychological, emotional and physical wellbeing of medical students and residents is critical in the development of competent, caring physicians who are better able to engage with their patients and provide higher quality care. This webinar discusses national and local efforts to prevent burnout and promote wellness throughout the physician education continuum.
Learning Objectives:
1. Define wellness and understand the importance of wellness for the trainee and the entire organization
2. Understand the prevalence and factors which contribute to physician burnout
3. Learn about successful wellness programs across the medical education continuum
4. Identify ways to measure wellness to monitor physician well-being and gauge the effectiveness of wellness programs
