Meeting Description:

Autism Awareness has become a year-round mission for those of us here at the Autism NOW Center. By providing you with high-quality resources and information, we hope to inform not only family members and professionals in the field, but also the general public about autism. Listen in as Co-Director Amy Goodman discusses the definition of autism, as well as common characteristics found in individuals of different age groups. She will also provide an overview of the possible causes and risk factors associated with autism. Register today!

Amy Goodman

Amy Goodman is the Co-Director of Autism NOW, the National Autism Resource and Information Center. She lives in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. She is an individual on the autism spectrum, discovering she had Asperger’s syndrome when in her 30s.

She earned her undergraduate degree from Regents College in New York and her Master’s degree from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia in Special Education with a focus in autism. During that two year period, she participated in the College Program for students with Asperger’s syndrome at the Autism Training Center (ATC) at Marshall University.
