Promoting Equitable Change through Creative Placemaking & Complete Streets

Meeting Description:
The integration of arts and culture into the built environment can lead to great improvements in transportation. In addition, creative placemaking plays an important role in creating new, healthy, and equitable Complete Streets. What community engagement strategies can be used to address solutions for safer streets? And what effects did the Place for Placemaking report and Neighborhood Placemaking Collaborative have in supporting an equitable Placemaking permit?
Join the National Complete Streets Coalition and two San Diego, CA based organizations to explore these questions and more. This webinar will feature speakers from Circulate San Diego, an organization that advocates for public and active transportation as well as sustainable growth. We’ll also hear from City Heights Community Development Corporation on the Little East Africa Pedestrian Safety and Gathering Place project. The webinar will be moderated by one the Coalition’s Steering Committee members at AECOM.
This is the final webinar in Implementation & Equity 201: The Path Forward to Complete Streets, a series of discussions designed to help professionals from a variety of disciplines put Complete Streets into action. We hope you'll be able to join us!
