Julie Moise is a board member of Families Fighting Flu, a nonprofit volunteer-based advocacy organization dedicated to protecting the lives of children by helping to increase annual influenza vaccination rates, especially among children aged 6 months and older and their families. As a mother, Julie knows personally how important it is to vaccinate children against influenza. In December 2003, Julie lost her 6-month-old son, Ian, to influenza. Julie has now dedicated herself to raising awareness about the seriousness of the disease and reducing the number of childhood hospitalizations and deaths caused by the flu each year.

Julie has spoken at nearly a dozen immunization coalition conferences, meetings, events and health care facilities across the country, passionately retelling her son’s tragic story and reminding everyone why annual vaccination is so important.
