Wisdom of Crowds: Using Ensembles of Predictive Models

Meeting Description:

In predictive data mining and predictive modeling, the business value of the trained models is often related to the accuracy of their predictions.  Various techniques have been developed for increasing the accuracy and stability of predictive models.  This Webcast highlights the use of ensembles of predictive models for better predictive accuracy and stability.   Dean will cover the following topics:

  • the usefulness and advantages of ensembles of models
  • an overview of concepts and approaches to utilizing multiple models in an ensemble
  • the options and features in the STATISTICA Data Miner software for building and scoring using ensembles of models

Who should attend

Predictive modelers and statisticians who are interested in boosting and bagging using ensembles of models.

DEAN W. ABBOTT has been applying advanced data mining, preparation, and visualization methods in real-world data intensive problems since 1986, including fraud detection, predictive CRM analytics, survey analysis, predictive toxicology, signal process, and missile guidance. In addition, he has developed and evaluated algorithms for use in commercial data mining and pattern recognition products, including polynomial networks, neural networks, radial basis functions, and clustering algorithms, and has consulted with data mining software companies to provide critiques and assessments of their current features and future enhancements.
