Surili Sutaria Patel is the Senior Program Manager, Environmental Health at the American Public Health Association (APHA). In this capacity, Surili oversees the environmental health portfolio which includes climate change, transportation and active transportation, working with tribal governments, healthy housing, chemical safety, building partnerships, and more.  Surili received her Master’s of Science in Biomedical Science Policy from Georgetown University and a Bachelors of Science in Political Science from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

Megan Latshaw, PhD

As the Environmental Health Director at the Association of Public Health Laboratories, Dr. Latshaw works to protect our health from potentially-toxic exposures. Her team focuses building a national state-based environmental health surveillance system, testing for agents of chemical terrorism, and building a home base for environmental laboratories. Her doctorate is in Environmental and Occupational Health from Johns Hopkins, where she continues to serve as a Faculty Associate. Dr. Latshaw has served on over a dozen national committees and is Chair of the American Public Health Association's Environment Section. She has authored or co-authored eight peer-reviewed articles and presented at over two dozen conferences and meetings.

Laura Anderko, PhD, RN

Dr. Anderko holds the Robert and Kathleen Scanlon Endowed Chair in Values Based Health Care at Georgetown University School of Nursing & Health Studies. She is a scholar and educator in the fields of epidemiology, public health and environmental health. A Robert Wood Johnson Executive Nurse Fellow, Dr. Anderko earned her PhD in Public Health from the University of Illinois, an MS from Northern Illinois University, and a BSN from University of Illinois. She is currently serving on the National Environmental Justice Advisory Committee’s Research Workgroup and is co-chair of the National Environmental Health Partnership Council.
