Max Skidmore
 
Telco Service Provider Business Development Manager, NetApp

Max Skidmore has over 25 years working in the IT industry; the majority of that time spent with IBM and Microsoft.  He has extensive experience in emerging technologies and currently is a Business Development Manager in NetApp’s Telco Service Provider organization.  In that role, he works with Service Providers to identify, develop and successfully deploy cloud based solutions.  He created and has presented to multiple audiences a presentation entitled, “Avoid the rain by embracing the cloud.”
Max graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point with a degree in Physics and Nuclear Engineering.  He lives in Denver with his wife and 5 children.

Jim Lenox
 
Senior Director, Enterprise Cloud, VMware

Based in Palo Alto, Jim Lenox is responsible for driving adoption of VMware’s hybrid cloud solution.  In this role, he is responsible for the business development of VMware’s range of cloud solutions for new and existing markets and developing the strategic partnerships to support the company’s accelerated growth in the cloud market.
Jim is a veteran at VMware with previous assignments in Tokyo and Singapore where he has been instrumental in establishing VMware’s international operations since 2000.  Lenox brings with him 20 years of experience in managing international operations for high tech companies involved in software, communications, and aerospace.
Lenox holds a Masters of Science degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California, a Masters of Arts degree in Asian Studies from the University of the Philippines, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University.

Jason Carolan
 
ViaWest Chief Technology Officer

Jason is CTO at ViaWest, a national service provider of data center and cloud services, headquartered in Denver, CO.  Prior to joining ViaWest, Jason was Director of Cloud Solution Engineering at VMware where he was responsible for reference architectures for cloud data center solutions in service provider and hybrid cloud markets.
Jason spent 11 years at Sun Microsystems, where he was a Distinguished Engineer in network and systems architecture and Director of Technical Initiatives for Global Sales and Services. He led Sun's field community of experts (COE) in cloud computing and a team of cross-functional experts in data center architectures.

He was a lead author or contributor to several recent publications, including “Sun's Data Center Design Guide”, several cloud architecture whitepapers, and one of the first books highlighting the combined use of virtualization and automation, “Building N1 Grid Solutions” in 2004. 

Brady Ranum
 
ViaWest VP of Sales Engineering

Brady Ranum heads up ViaWest’s talented group of Sales Engineers, which ensure the delivery of flexible and scalable customer solutions across the company’s comprehensive product set. As one of the first employees of the company, Mr. Ranum has close to two decades of experience designing and implementing IT infrastructure solutions. His unique skill-set has enabled him to deliver extraordinary results in the design of colocation, customized managed servers, custom networks, and storage environments that have helped ViaWest customers grow and thrive.  He is responsible for designing over 400 unique and successful customer implementations. Prior to ViaWest, Mr. Ranum worked as DASE with US West. He is a graduate of the University of Florida.
