PLA: An Update on Relevant Criteria and Assumed Practices

Meeting Description:
As more institutions explore how to expand evaluation and award of credit for prior military training, it is important that institutional policy and practices respond to relevant accreditation criteria. Karen J. Solomon, vice president for accreditation relations for the Higher Learning Commission, provides a walk-through of HLC policy, Criteria for Accreditation, and Assumed Practices that are relevant to prior learning assessment planning and practices.
The session also identifies expectations within Federal compliance review. Presenters emphasize the areas of focus where institutions should expect to provide evidence during the comprehensive evaluation. Participants will have time to pose questions. Examples of state, system, or institutional practices around the assessment and award of credit for prior learning attained through military training, will be shared.
The hour-long presentation will include time for questions/answers.
This webinar session will be recorded and archived on MHEC's YouTube channel.
