ABCs of ESOPs for ESOP Participants

Meeting Description:
This webinar is, as the title suggests, a primer on ESOPs and is geared towards ESOP participants of all levels and experience, but is ideal for employees of new ESOPs, or new hires from exisitng ESOPs. Covered will be a bit of history, an overview of the ESOP structure, what information participants receive, and a review of everything else.
As always, members of Ohio’s Employee Owned Network have unlimited free registrations to all of our webinars. For non-members, the cost to attend is $50 per person/per webinar (attendees will be invoiced at the completion of the webinar). Jim Bado, Workplace Development, Inc.

Jim Bado, founder of Workplace Development, has been assisting employee-owned business since 1989. Bado’s expertise includes rolling out new ESOP plans, communicating an ESOP’s benefits, building effective internal ESOP committees and strategic planning in an ESOP company. In addition to working as an executive for a 100% ESOP company and serving on the Board of Governors of the ESOP Association, he has created a number of practical learning games to teach business skills, teamwork and ownership knowledge. Bado is also the inventor of educational board games produced and distributed internationally.

Chris Cooper, Ohio Employee Ownership Center

Chris Cooper is a Program Coordinator at the Ohio Employee Ownership Center (OEOC) at Kent State University. His focus is on three main areas: training and education programs for employee owners, assisting business owners with the exit planning process, and small business development. Chris is a member of The ESOP Association’s Culture Committee, and is the primary trainer at The ESOP Association’s Employee Owner Retreat (which the OEOC staffs). In 2010, Chris was designated a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) from the Exit Planning Institute (EPI) and is a Past Vice President of the NE Ohio Chapter.
