Getting Started with IDL

Meeting Description:

Join us for this informative live web seminar to learn about basics of using IDL for data visualization and analysis.  IDL is the proven, computing environment used by scientists and engineers worldwide for understanding complex data through analysis and visualization. IDL combines the power of an array-based programming language with easy-to-use tools for working with data.

Built on the popular Eclipse platform, IDL delivers tools that help you quickly and easily get the informaiton you need from your data.  In addition to an overview of IDL functionality, this seminar will also cover the new features in the recently released IDL 7.1 that make exploring and visualizing data even easier and more intuitive. Topics covered in this seminar will include:

  • IDL Workbench overview
  • Reading data from files into IDL
  • Storing and manipulating data
  • Visualizing data with tools built in IDL
  • Sharing your results

The webcast and product demonstration will run approximately 45 minutes with time for Q&A at the end. No prior knowledge of IDL is required for attending this web seminar. Registration is limited, so please register today. A recording of this seminar will be made available on our website at a later date.
