Karen is a sought-after speaker, trainer, writer, and consultant with expertise in technology leadership and innovation, nonprofit software, and digital strategy. As Idealware’s Executive Director she leads a team of researchers, presenters, and writers who create technology information resources designed to help nonprofit leaders put their vision into action. Her past experience includes leading the technology consulting services and nonprofit technology learning and networking programs at MAP for Nonprofits, helping to build the nonprofit CRM/database solution provider thedatabank from a startup to a thriving software company, and various roles in arts and human services organizations.  She holds an MBA in Nonprofit Management from the University of St. Thomas.
 

David Forrester

David leads technology development and support and is a member of the leadership team at National CASA (casaforchildren.org). Together with its state and local member programs, National CASA supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy so that every abused or neglected child in the United States can be safe, have a permanent home, and the opportunity to thrive.

 

David has over 20 years of experience leading technology teams and managing projects, including strategic planning, IT Infrastructure, website and application development, and the launch of nonprofit and for-profit start-ups. He’s passionate about the potential for IT to improve the social sector.

David’s other obsessions include his family, deadball-era baseball, hiking, and historical research. Having spent his life in and around Boston before moving to the upper-left corner of the US, he is still the proud owner of a New England temperament.
