ASBMR invites you to join us for a webinar session presented by Anna Spagnoli, ASBMR Councilor, Professor and Chair, Department of Pediatrics and the Woman’s Board Chair of Pediatrics Rush University Medical Center. Dr. Spagnoli will offer her reflections and viewpoints on the challenges that women in the bone and mineral field face and how she has successfully navigated around potential pitfalls. Attendees of the webcast can expect Dr. Spagnoli to expand on the following themes:

1. “Look After” – How to cultivate mentor/mentee relationships to help eliminate gender gaps in academic organizations and the bone and mineral field.

2. "Look Among” – How to utilize peer networking to develop strategies that promote inclusion and diversity within the field.

3. "Look Up” – How to recognize the “glass ceiling” at your institution and address the impact of gender-linked biases that confront women in academia.

Dr. Anna Spagnoli is a professor and the Women's Board Chair of Pediatrics at Rush University. Dr. Spagnoli's research interests include bone disorders in children, fracture healing, stem cells, and osteoarthritis. Dr. Spagnoli currently serves on the ASBMR Council and the ASBMR Women in Bone and Mineral Research Committee.
