Growing Roots: A Primer on the Key Forestry Issues Affecting Your Company

Meeting Description:

Join us for an introduction to sustainable forest management with American Forest Foundation's Director of Certification and GreenBlue's Senior Manager of Forest Products. This session will include an overview of the important forestry issues affecting companies today, including the pivotal role of family owned woodlands, from which an estimated 50% of domestic wood supplies originate. We will provide a basic orientation to key terms and concepts associated with sustainable forestry including biodiversity, best management practices and forest conversion. In addition, the session offers a snapshot of family landowners, a group that collectively own more than a third of America’s forests. Who are they? What motivates them? How might their management affect supply chains?
