Applying for Social Security Disability benefits can be challenging, but preparation and the right documents can make it easier. Join Amy Jackson of the Caring Voice Coalition and Charlotte McCabe, a PH patient and successful SSD applicant, for tips on the process—from deciding to apply to what to do if you receive a denial.

Amy Jackson, Financial Case Manager/ Floor Trainer at Caring Voice Coalition, Inc.

In her role as Financial Case Manager/Floor Trainer, Amy is responsible for providing training to CVC staff, which, among many things, includes identifying insurance coverage options, exploring Medicare drug coverage options, and assisting CVC eligible patients with the disability application process. Amy brings over three years of experience working with Social Security Disability applicants and over six years of experience working in the healthcare & health insurance industry.  Her ability to provide accurate process coaching combined with her deep compassion for the patient makes her a perfect fit for Caring Voice Coalition’s Training Team.

Charlotte McCabe is a support group leader for the Puyallup Support Group in Washington state.  She has been active in the PHA community since 2006 and successfully applied for disability benefits in 2007.
