Course Description: The regulatory environment is full of ever-changing regulations that can make it difficult for dentists to ensure they’re up-to-date on, and in compliance with, the many regulations that need to be followed in the practice.
This one-hour webinar offers participants a better understanding of various federal guidelines that help protect patients, members of the dental team, the practice, and their own license to practice. Featured topics include need-to-know requirements from OSHA, HIPAA, plus the latest guidelines on infection prevention and control.
The program will also introduce dentists and members of their teams to the ADA's Guidelines for Practice Success™ (GPS™) module on Managing the Regulatory Environment.
Objectives: Following the program, participants will be able to:
1. Understand how violations may occur in the dental practices and gain tips for preventing them
2. Conduct a risk assessment that meets the minimum expectations for safe care in a dental practice
3. Assess the practice’s compliance with HIPAA's Privacy Rule
CE Credit: One (1) hour of continuing education (CE) credit will be provided to those participants who complete at least 45 minutes of the program.
