WHYB "Worker Safety Wednesday" Webinar: Workplace Violence and Active Shooter Response in a Healthcare Setting


Meeting Description:
Workplace violence incidents continue to rise in healthcare settings, and an active shooter event inside a health care location can be confusing.  This presentation will present Workplace Violence planning and response including newly released guidance on preventing, planning for, respond to, and recovering from a health care Active Shooter event. While many opinions continue to be provided on how to respond, this seminar will provide the recommendations of the Healthcare and Public Health Sector Coordinating Council, a part of the Federal Critical Infrastructure program.

Learning Objectives
  • Develop a healthcare workplace violence program
  • Use of threat assessment teams
  • Define a healthcare active shooter event and how to plan, respond, and recover

Continuing Education: FHA is approved as a provider of continuing nursing education by the Florida State Board of Nursing under Provider No. NCE2972. Eligibility for CEUs requires submission of an evaluation survey for each participant requesting continuing education. Licensed Florida nurses will receive a certificate of participation for 1.0 hour of continuing nursing education.
