Suicide Prevention is Everybody's Business

Meeting Description:

Suicide is a prevalent public health issue worldwide. As a result, suicide prevention has become a global initiative at the individual, family, and societal levels. While state level organizations take more universal approaches to suicide prevention, local agencies, providers and community members are able to provide immediate suicide prevention education and services on an individual level. This workshop will provide an overview of suicide as a public health issue and the critical but often overlooked role providers play in suicide prevention.
