Vanessa Boudewyns, PhD

Dr. Vanessa Boudewyns is a social scientist that leads experimental, survey, and evaluation studies to inform regulatory decision-making and to develop and assess social marketing campaigns. She is a communication expert that uses theories of behavior change, information processing, and message effects to understand, develop, and evaluate mass media campaigns, advertising messages, and risk communication.

Dr. Boudewyns has also applied this interdisciplinary approach to explore ways to curb the spread of misinformation about health and science and promote informed decision making. She has advanced skills in experimental design, survey development, quantitative data collection and analysis, theory-based formative work, process and outcome evaluations, and systematic reviews.
