Breaking Down Barriers to Adoption Through Interjurisdictional Adoptions

Meeting Description:
The work we do with children may lead us to search for homes beyond borders. Learn from the professionals at the Barker Adoption Foundation who specialize in long-distance adoptive placements. Barker specialists will share information to help you determine when to broaden your search for a child, support families with a national search, help older youth acclimate to their new home, and develop/sustain a strong national network of social workers and post-placement support professionals to build forever families regardless of geography. Participants will also receive an update on the federal NEICE system (The National Electronic Interstate Compact Enterprise) which is operated by the American Public Human Services Association (APHSA) with the Association of Administrators of the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (AAICPC) and the Children’s Bureau.

Note: AEA will be offering continuing education credits through NASW to all attendees who need them.  Please note that this webinar is free for AEA members but costs $25.00 for non-members.
