When a Person Relocates: What Advocates Need to Know

Meeting Description:

Welcome! On this call, we'll discuss five issues for survivors who have children and want to relocate: 1. Safety and economic issues; 2. Federal and state laws that impact relocation; 3. Possible criminal provisions if a victim relocates;  4. Family law concerns – what will happen to the child(ren)? Which court has jurisdiction to make this decision? 5. Should she/he file a restraining order…and if so, before or after deciding to relocate?

This is a conference call only – not a webinar.  Please note the link to advance reading materials. These materials will be discussed during the conference call. Participants will receive a link to additional resources when they complete the post-conference call evaluation.
