Interested in delivering webinars, but don't know where to start?  Join our webinar, Training an Invisible Audience: Delivering Effective Webinars, on Thursday, December 8 at 11am Pacific time.

During this one-hour event, you will hear from TechSoup webinar program manager Kyla Hunt and independent library consultant, author, and trainer Stephanie Gerding on the basics of providing effective webinars.

Some questions addressed will be:

  • How is online training different from face-to-face or in-person training?
  • What planning is involved in designing and delivering a webinar?
  • How do you encourage audience participation and interaction?
  • What are the differences between webinar platforms?

Stephanie Gerding ( is a library consultant and author of three books, including The Accidental Technology Trainer and Winning Grants. Stephanie presents at national conferences and has conducted training across the US, including train-the-trainer programming for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, managing statewide training programs at New Mexico and Arizona State Libraries, and training for a library automation firm. She has developed and taught online technology courses for the Public Library Association, NorthCentral University, Simmons College, WebJunction, TechSoup for Libraries, State Libraries, and the University of North Texas. Stephanie is Training and Outreach Specialist for Techsoup for Libraries, and a facilitator for PLA’s free Turning the Page 2.0 advocacy course. She lives in Seattle with her husband and charming four-year old daughter.

Kyla Hunt is the Webinar Program Manager at TechSoup Global.  After receiving her MSIS from the University of Texas at Austin, she worked in public, academic, and state libraries throughout California and Texas.  While at the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, Kyla had the opportunity to create numerous webinars and other online courses for Texas librarians, and she is thrilled to be continuing her foray into the world of webinars at TechSoup Global!
