On March 1, 2018 Evidence for Action (E4A) will release an open Call for Proposals to identify a Matching Team whose primary role will be to facilitate partnerships between organizations working in communities and research partners to rigorously evaluate the health, well-being, and equity impacts of innovative program or policy interventions.
In reviewing over 1200 Letters of Intent (LOIs), we have discovered that while many LOIs submitted by organizations working in communities address important issues, some lack sufficient rigor in their research design to deliver convincing evidence of the impact of their intervention on population health. These organizations may include community-based organizations, healthcare service providers, non-profits, and government agencies – many of whom have sophisticated infrastructure to implement initiatives but limited research capacity for rigorous evaluation. One way to build research capacity in the field is to facilitate relationships between these entities and researchers. We are now seeking an organization who can facilitate such partnerships.
During the webinar E4A leadership will:
- Review the Call for Proposals and the application process, materials, and timelines;
- Provide insights into the characteristics of an ideal candidate for the Matching Team;
- Outline the role and expectations we have of the Matching Team.
Ample time will also be allowed for a live Q&A. It is recommended that you review the Call for Proposals and our website prior to the webinar.
Please share this information with your colleagues and others who may be interested in acting as the Matching Team.
